M.C. London Gazette 9 January, 1918. “For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty in leading and organising his stretcher bearers under intense fire of every description, in such a manner that our wounded were speedily evacuated. He worked increasingly in the open for 24 hours, until he was severely wounded, by his admirable courage and determination saving many lives.”

Kenneth Biggs joined the R.A.M.C. as Lieutenant on 15 September 1914, rising to Captain. He then transferred to the Royal Air Force in the same rank on 1 October 1918. On 13 July 1920 he became Flight Lieutenant in the Medical Branch, and subsequently rose to the rank of Acting Air Vice-Marshal. He reverted to the Retired List on 2 November 1947, retaining the rank of Air Vice-Marshal.
