Albert Edward Berwick was born at Burton-on-Trent on 5 March 1898. During the Great War he served as a Private in the Staffordshire Yeomanry and entered the Egypt theatre of war on 10 November 1915. He served in the British South Africa Police from 11 June 1919, and was appointed to the Northern Rhodesia on 15 July 1921 as a Constable. He attained the rank of Inspector in April 1929. He was appointed to act as Superintendent of Broken Hill Central Prisons with effect from 3 April 1931. As an Inspector, Berwick was awarded the L.S. & G.C. Medal (Northern Rhodesia). He retired from the service in 1933. He died at Marandellas in Southern Rhodesia on 14 July 1950. Sold with copied research and a copied group photograph which features the recipient.
