Victoria, Threepence, 1869. Virtually as struck, toned to grey, with some underlaying mint bloom (£60-80)
A difficult coin to judge: quite sharp with some underlaying brilliance but without the prooflike qualities one would normally expect from a Maundy issue. In the view of the cataloguers a currency striking and thus very rare but we would not rule out the possiblity that it may be a slightly dulled Maundy coin.
