Lieutenant Walter Edmund Troke, educ. Taunton School, was killed in action on HMS Cromarty, 23 October 1943; the vessel, commanded by Cdr C.G. Palmer, DSC and Bar, VRD, RNZNVR, MIS, 14th Flotilla, was sunk with the loss of five officers and 20 ratings
