Eileen Margaret Atkinson, BSc (1931-2011), Edinburgh; eldest daughter of Judge Fenton Atkinson, who presided over the the trial of the Moors murderers Ian Brady and Myra Hindley in 1966; educ. Harrogate Ladies College and King’s College, London; keen ornithologist; worked at Lambeth Palace and the Episcopal Church Synod Office, and also for the Conservative party
