Frank Coward was born in Edge Hill, Liverpool, lived in Hooley Lane, Manchester and enlisted at Ashton-under-Lyne, Lancashire. Serving as a Sergeant in the 2nd Battalion Manchester Regiment, he died of wounds on 11 April 1918. He was buried in the Doullens Communal Cemetery Extension No. 1, Somme, France.
