Charles II (1660-1685), Crown, 1678 (over 7), third bust, tricesimo, seven harp strings (SC 250; ESC 55-R2). Fine to very fine, toned, a very rare date (£250-300)

A very rare date in all grades; all are thought to be over 7. Not quite as fine as the Manville specimen, but comparable to the Willis coin (lot 46, Glendining’s, 7.10.1991 - £320).
