I.O.M. 2nd Class G.G.O. No. 2087 of 3 June 1919, ‘The Governor-General in Council is pleased to sanction the grant of the following rewards for gallantry and devotion to duty in the field while serving with the Egyptian Expeditionary Force’

‘For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty throughout the recent operations. During an attack on the 10th September 1918, this young non-commissioned officer was foremost in the advance cheering on his companions and setting a fine example to all ranks. He is always the first to volunteer for any dangerous duty and has many times distinguished himself.’ With copied research.
