Miss Elizabeth Gertrude Georgina Arbuthnot was born on 25 July 1889, a granddaughter of Sir William Muir. As a Nurse with the French Red Cross, entered France in February 1915 and served there until December 1917. Her copied m.i.c. also shows service with the Y.M.C.A. She went to Salonika in February 1918 as an Orderly with Dr Elsie Inglis’ Unit (Scottish Women’s Hospital) and was later to help nurse Dr Inglis during her illness and was with her in Serbia and Russia. Miss Arbuthnot died in Chelsea on 11 November 1976. With a quantity of copied research - she is mentioned several times in Shadow of Swords. Foreign medals not confirmed.
