Wilfred Leigh Cox was born in Bowdon, Cheshire on 15 August 1887. He received his medical training at the University of Manchester and at the Middlesex Hospital, graduating M.R.C.S. Eng., L.R.C.P. Lond. 1915. Entering France in June 1915, he served as House Surgeon at the Anglo-French-American Hospital, Paris, 1915-16 and was a Hon. Captain in the R.A.M.C. Dr Cox died of Typhoid Fever at Bournemouth on 28 February 1926.
