Robert Dunn was born in Maryborough, Queen’s Co., Ireland. He attested for the 67th Regiment at Cork on 24 October 1859, aged 15 years. Promoted Corporal in August 1866; Sergeant in March 1868 and Colour Sergeant in October 1869. Served in China, April 1864-April 1865; Cape of Good Hope, April 1865-September 1866; Burma, November 1872-March 1876; India, March 1876-April 1879; Afghaistan, April 1879-March 1880; India, March-June 1880. Dunn was discharged as a Quartermaster Sergeant and Orderly Room Sergeant in 1896 having completed 37 years service.
