Frank Thraves was born in Caythorpe, Nottinghamshire, lived in Gunthorpe and enlisted at Nottingham. Serving with the 1st Battalion Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Regiment he died of wounds, France/Flanders, on 20 June 1915, aged 23 years. He was buried in the La Gorgue Communal Cemetery. He was the son of Richard and Ellen Thraves of Holly Cottage, Gunthorpe, Nottingham.
