James McCormack was born and lived in Limerick and enlisted at Ennis, Co. Clare. Serving in the 2nd Battalion Royal Munster Fusiliers, he entered France on 13 August 1914. He was killed in action on 27 August 1914 and buried in the Etreux British Cemetery, Aisne, France. With copied m.i.c. and casualty details.
