Elmer Tapping, a Blacksmith, born on 18 October 1896, enlisted at Kingston, Ontario in October 1915. Serving with ‘C’ Battery, Royal Canadian Horse Artillery, he entered England in November 1915, but was posted to France with the 1st Divisional Ammunition Column in April 1916. Transferred to the 1st Divisional Signal Company Canadian Engineers in May 1917, he was awarded the M.M. and was discharged in Kingston, Ontario, in April 1919; sold with copied papers.
