Reginald Francis Hastings Ward was born in Abingdon, Berkshire, on 9 December 1897. A Sawyer by occupation, he enlisted into the 124th Battalion (Governor General’s Body Guard) at Toronto in December 1915, but was serving with the 4th (Central Ontario) Battalion when he was killed in action during the Third Battle of Ypres, on 30 July 1917. He was buried in the Bully-Grenay Communal Cemetery, British Extension. Ward was the son of William and Hannah Ward, of 42 Spring Road, Abingdon; sold with copied service papers.
