James Roger Kemp was born in Midlothian, Scotland, on 28 February 1904. A Book Keeper and Stenographer by occupation, living at 342 Atlantic Avenue, Winnipeg, he enlisted at Winnipeg in June 1943, but died of disease on 24 June 1945. He was buried in the Winnipeg (Elmwood) Cemetery; sold with a quantity of copied service papers.
