M.M. London Gazette 10 May, 1951.
‘On 17 February, 1951, Rfn Dilbahadur Thapa was leading scout of a section operating in the Bentong area of Pehang. He suddenly came under heavy fire from higher ground; he immediately charged killing two bandits, but fell wounded before reaching their position; he was then subjected to very heavy fire. Despite his serious wound, he managed to get out an 80 smoke grenade which he threw at the bandit position with his unwounded arm. This confused the bandits and enabled his section commander to identify and charge the enemy position, with the result that the bandits were put to flight and another bandit killed.
This young rifleman’s and coolness and courage when seriously wounded and under very heavy fire, is deserving of the highest commendation.’
