Queen’s City of Edinburgh Rifle Volunteer Brigade Pouch Belt Plate and Three Whistle Guards c. 1860 - 1880, the first of circular outline in die stamped bronze features the city motto ‘Nisi Dominus Frustra’ with central depiction of a three towered castle, three screw post fasteners, the whistle guards feature the ancient crown of Scotland over decorative ovals enclosing the letters ‘ERV’ on two of them and ‘VRB’ on the third, all with screw post fasteners, very good condition (4) £100-150
