James Albert Eadie was born in Cambuslang, Lanarkshire on 7 January 1895. Educated at West Coats, Cambuslang and Glasgow University. Commissioned into the 9th Battalion Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders in September 1915. He was killed in action in France on 27 May 1918, aged 23 years, whilst on attachment to the 21st Battalion M.G.C. Having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Soissons Memorial. James Smith was born in Bainsford, Stirlingshire, lived at Larbert and enlisted at Falkirk. Serving with the 1st/7th Battalion Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders, he was killed in action, France/Flanders, on 17 December 1917, aged 22 years. He was buried in the Red Cross Corner Cemetery, Beugny. Private Smith was the son of Mrs Mary Smith, of 208 West Carron, Falkirk. With copied casualty details and m.i.c.
