An 1896 pattern heavy cavalry officer’s sword, by Harman & Co. Calcutta, the straight 92 cm blade etched with crowned VR cypher and foliate scrolling, regulation steel scroll guard, chequered pommel and backstrap, fish-skin covered grip bound with silver wire, complete with its steel scabbard with two hanging rings, good condition overall £200-250
1896 pattern heavy cavalry swords which can be associated with the Indian Cavalry are uncommon.
