Alex Buchanan attested for the 3rd Field Ambulance Scottish Horse (T.F.) at Dundee in May 1915. He served in Gallipoli, September-December 1915; Egypt, December 1915-November 1916 and April 1917-July 1919. Registered as a Dispenser from 16 April 1918, receiving the certificate of the Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain. Disembodied on 1 September 1919. His home address was Melville Cottage, Loanhead, Midlothian. With copied service papers and m.i.c.
