Charles Victor Frith was born in Polsham, lived in Langport and enlisted at Armoury House. London. Serving in the 1st Battalion Honourable Artillery Company (Infantry), he died of wounds, France/Flanders, on 9 June 1917, aged 28 years. He was buried in the Duisans British Cemetery, Etrun. He was the son of Samuel Stuckley and Mary Frith, of Easton, Wells, Somerset.
The Reverend Bernard Stanislaus Mary Howell was a Roman Catholic priest, fluent in English, French, Italian and German. Appointed a Temporary Chaplain to the Forces 4th Class in November 1916, he served with the Egypt Expeditionary Force. With some copied papers.
