Jones was a pre-war N.C.O. in the 1st Brecknockshire Battalion, South Wales Borderers (Territorials), as a consequence of which he first entered the Aden theatre of war in late 1914.
Sold with original Record Office forwarding letters for his 1914-15 Star and T.F.E.M., both dated in August 1920, the latter addressed to the recipient at The Hospital, Talgarth, Breconshire; together with an interesting selection of Great War photographs (23), including scenes from Aden, some of them picture postcards with messages to the recipient’s children.
