The recipient was wounded at Gallipoli in the period 7-11 August 1915 (Whitehorne & Marden’s History of the Welch Regiment, refers). Total battalion casualties in the same period amounted to three officers and 94 other ranks killed, and 11 officers and 178 other ranks wounded.
