1914-15 Star (659 Pte. T. Evans, Welsh H.), very fine £50-60

Thomas Evans was born in Tylorstown, Glamorganshire and enlisted in the 1/1 Welsh Horse at Newtown, Montgomeryshire. He subsequently served with the regiment in the Gallipoli campaign and in Egypt. Following the amalgamation of the 1/1 Welsh Horse and the 1/1 Montgomeryshire Yeomanry to form the 25th Battalion, Royal Welsh Fusiliers, in March 1917, he was killed in action in Palestine on 31 October. He was buried in Beersheba War Cemetery; sold with copied research.
