Robert Vachell de Acton Redwood, O. St. J., F.R.C.S., M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P., was appointed an Honorary Surgeon of the Rhymney Division (South Wales Border Corps) in February 1909. He was subsequently appointed Centre Surgeon for Monmouthshire in June 1933, in which capacity he was awarded the O. St. J. (London Gazette 25 June 1935, refers).
