№ 2184

.

12 December 2016

Estimate: £5,000–£6,000

Henry V (1413-1422), Noble, class A, mm. cross pattée on rev. only, trefoils in spandrels, rev. quatrefoil in second quarter, 6.78g/7h (Brooke I, 3/6; SCBI Schneider –; N 1369; S 1739). Crimped and slightly creased, otherwise about very fine, extremely rare; possibly the only specimen available to commerce £5,000-6,000

This piece is a die-duplicate of a coin in the British Museum collection, 1920-8-16-47. In our opinion the coin is rarer than Coins of England would suggest, few specimens having come on the market in the last 50 years
