Boer War Tribute Medal, a silver shield, the obverse engraved ‘South Africa Dubbo Troop 1900’, silver stamps to reverse, very fine, extremely rare £80-100
The Dubbo Troop came from the town of Dubbo, New South Wales, Australia. It is recorded in Town and Country Journal of August 1900 that ‘the towns of Tumut, Euroa, and Dubbo presented gold medals to their returning volunteers, as mementoes of their services in the Transvaal War in 1900’ (Boer War Tribute Medals, by M.
