Charles Croft died at Balaklava on 28 January 1855. He was born in Shrewsbury and enlisted into the 21st (Royal North British) Regiment of Fusiliers on 29 April 1852, a groom by trade. He served in the Crimea, including the battles of Alma, Balaklava and Inkermann, and the siege of Sebastopol. Sold with copied medal roll entries confirming all clasps.
