The King’s Liverpool Regiment, 6th Volunteer Battalion Officer’s Blue Cloth Helmet, c. 1883-1901, the skull complete with all silver plated fittings, the very fine frontal plate of crowned star pattern with laurel and Garter overlays, in the centre on a ground of crimson velvet (worn) the White Horse of Hanover on ground with scroll above ‘Nec Aspera Terrent’, double title scroll below ‘The Liverpool Regiment 6th Volunteer Battalion’, the plate is original to the helmet, buff leather sweatband with crimson and ivory silk quilted linings, the skull with considerable loss of pile, sundry small moth holes, the back spine retaining section is loose otherwise in sound condition £500-600
