William Jack Barr was born in Hammersmith, Middlesex, and attested for the London Regiment at Ealing, Middlesex. He served during the Great War with the Machine Gun Corps, and was killed in action on the Western Front on 2 September 1918. He is buried in Bancourt British Cemetery, France.
Sold together with named card box of issue for the British War and Victory Medals, and card envelope, Buckingham Palace enclosure, and outer addressed envelope for the Memorial Plaque, the latter addressed to ‘Mr. William Barr, 23 Craven Avenue, Ealing, London, W.’
