A rare and early occurrence of a civilian Dockyard Shipwright receiving a medal for his presence aboard a Royal Naval ship during a Fleet gunnery action. The Medal Roll states that his Egypt Medal and Khedive's Star were sent to the Superintendent of Malta Dockyard for presentation.
