King’s Police and Fire Service Medal, G.VI.R., 1st issue, for Distinguished Service (Wilfred Burgess, Supdt. Grimsby Borough Police); Defence Medal; Jubilee 1935; Coronation 1937; County Borough of Grimsby Police Good Service Medal, the reverse engraved ‘Presented by Watch Committee February 1947’ (Superintendent W. Burgess.) lacking integral top riband bar; Association of Professional Fire Brigade Officers Long Service Medal, silver (Dep: Ch: Off: W. Burgess. Grimsby. 25: 7: 44:); National Fire Brigades Association Long Service Medal, bronze (13035 Wifrid Burgess.); together with the recipient’s St. John Ambulance Association Re-Examination Cross, bronze, the reverse engraved ‘A.204463 Wilfrid Burgess’, traces of adhesive to the reverse of each medal, lacquered, otherwise nearly extremely fine and a rare combination (8) £600-800

Wilfrid Burgess served as Superintendent with the Grimsby Borough Police, as well as being Deputy Chief Officer of the Borough’s Fire Brigade. He was subsequently promoted Deputy Chief Constable.

Sold together with the recipient’s Grimsby Borough Police cap badge and collar badges.
