Edward IV (1461-1483), First Cross and Pellets coinage, Dublin, mm. cross (?) on obv. only, crosses by crown, saltires by neck, rev. nothing in centre, no extra pellets, 0.57g/3h (Burns Du-31H; Mac Conamhna, BNJ 2017, p.110, no. 6, this coin; S –). Part flat, otherwise nearly very fine, rare £150-200

This and the following lot, Mac Conamhna fig. 2, nos. 6 (this coin) and 7 respectively, have tentatively been given to the 1465-7 coinage based on stylistic grounds and weight distribution. Two specimens from this punch weigh above 10% more than the weight standard of the 1473-9 coinage and a further specimen of Waterford, unweighed, appears on an almost full flan
