Thomas Henry Hastings Davies (1789-1846), Elmley Castle, Worcestershire; educ. Sandhurst; Ensign, 52nd Foot, 1804, rising to Captain, 1808; Lieutenant and Captain, 1st Foot Guards, 1809, advancing to Lieutenant-Colonel, 1815; distinguished himself in the Peninsula War and at the Battle of Waterloo; MP for Worcester 1818-34 and 1837-41, sitting ‘with the aid of a large purse’.
