D.C.M. London Gazette 14 January 1916 (citation published 11 March 1916):
‘For conspicuous good work as Chief Clerk in the office of the Assistant Director of Supplies. He has always displayed great zeal and efficiency and a marked devotion to duty.’
C. W. H. Lumbard was born in 1884 and served with the Army Service Corps in Somaliland in 1908-10, and with the 27th Depot Unit of Supply, Army Service Corps during the Great War on the Western Front from 12 August 1914. He died in Co. Durham in 1945.
