An accompanying letter from the Chancery of the Order of the Bath, St. James's Palace, confirms that K.C.V.O. No. 273 was issued on 26 September 1913 to Brigadier General W. R. Robertson (later Field Marshal Sir William Robertson Bt., G.C.B., G.C.M.G., G.C.V.O., D.S.O.). The insignia were returned in 1931 on his promotion to G.C.V.O. and were re-issued on 1 January 1932 to The Very Reverend A.V. Baillie, Dean of Windsor. This information is recorded on the reverse of both the badge and star.
