Henry John Harden was born in Seaford, Sussex and enlisted at Eastbourne, Sussex. As a Gunner in the 57th Brigade Royal Field Artillery, he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 6 November 1914. When serving with the 380th Battery, 158th Brigade, R.F.A., he was killed in action on 23 March 1918. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Pozieres Memorial. He was the son of of Henry John and Annie Harden, of 3 Church Lance, Seaford, Sussex.
