Jaggat Singh served during the Great War with the 15th Ludhiana Sikhs, as part of the South Persia Force, and in addition to being awarded the Meritorious Service Medal (reputedly for Baluchistan) was also Mentioned in Despatches ‘for valuable and distinguished services rendered in connection with Military Operations during the period 1 June 1918 to 30 April 1919.’ (London Gazette 23 July 1920).
