City of Bath Volunteer Infantry Other Ranks Shako Plate 1803-1808, an excavated example in die-stamped copper alloy, featuring St. Edward’s crown over the Arms of the City and a scroll ‘Bath Volunteers’, the bases only of three loop or wire fasteners, most probably unique, good condition for age £200-£300
NOTE. Somewhat lacking in the Volunteer spirit prior to 1803, the city then raised two large volunteer infantry corps, the one featured above and ‘Bath Forum Volunteers’.
