Corps of the Gentlemen at Arms, Captain-General the Earl of Cavan’s Full Dress Epaulettes, a very fine pair in gold lace, gold bullions and gilt metal the straps embellished with crossed sword and baton insignia for a General in the Army and very large and fine unit insignia featuring a Royal coronet over a portcullis these in gold and silver lace crimson and dark blue velvets; finial buttons with unit insignia. They are lined with red moroccan and pleated red silk, one ‘pull’ to one bullion and two other minute stitching faults otherwise very good condition (2) £400-£600

Note. Frederick Rudolph Lambart, 10th Earl of Cavan saw service in the Grenadier Guards, becoming a General in the Army 2 November 1921 and a Field Marshal 31 October 1932. He was appointed Captain-General of the Corps of gentlemen at Arms in 1929 and was succeeded by the Earl of Lucan in 1931.
