Sporting Interest: A pair of 18ct gold and enamel jockey cap cufflinks, the three-dimensional jockey cap terminals decorated in black and green enamel, to swivel back fittings, in yellow precious metal, stamped ‘Gucci’ and ‘750’, cap length 22mm. £600-£800
These cufflinks were previously owned by Victor Morely Lawson, the owner of the 1974 winner of the Cesarewitch, Ocean King. In 1973, aged 67 Morely Lawson had ridden Ocean King himself and won the Corinthian Stakes at Warwick as an amateur jockey (his ambition for 30 years). Another of his horses, Popsis Joy, won the 1980 Cesarewitch, ridden by Lester Piggott.
