Among the items stolen in February 1962 from the premises of B.A. Seaby was a Richard III London Penny which at the time was unique. To this day it has not been recovered. A few years ago a low grade specimen was discovered and sold at auction and since then a nearly very fine specimen passed through these rooms for£6,500 hammer (DNW 99, lot 413). The present piece is from the same obverse die as the Seaby coin and is arguably in better condition
