87th Prince of Wales’s Own Irish Fusiliers Officer’s Shoulder Belt Plate, Honour Slide and Tip c1845-1855. A truly magnificent trio of items still with a section of the white leather belt. The rectangular belt plate in ‘dead’ gilt with a burnished gilt edge mounted with a large gilt fused grenade, the flames in ‘dead’ gilt the ball being burnished, this is mounted with a large depiction of the captured French eagle of the 8me regiment of the ligne. The gilt slide bearing laurel sprays embellished with ten battle honours. The gilt tip of rococo outline. Standard hook and stud fasteners, excellent condition £1,500-£2,000
