R. H. Sparrow attested for the South Lancashire Regiment and served with the 2nd Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 14 August 1914 (also entitled to a clasp to his 1914 Star). He transferred to the Royal Flying Corps on 22 March 1916, and to the Royal Air Force on the latter’s formation on 1 April 1918.
George T. Sparrow attested for the South Lancashire Regiment, and served with them during the Third Afghan War (not entitled to the Victory Medal).
