Frederick Collier Wheeler was born in Colchester, Essex, and attested for the Royal Fusiliers at Guildford, Surrey. He served with the 26th Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front, and was killed in action on 18 September 1916. He has no known grave, and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, France.
Cecil Henry Wheeler, the brother of Frank Collier Wheeler, was born in Colchester, Essex, and attested there for the Essex Regiment. He served with the 10th Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front, and was killed in action on 19 April 1916. He is buried in Cerisy-Gailly Military Cemetery, Somme, France.
