John W. Osborne attested for the Royal Field Artillery and served during the Great War on the Western Front as part of the 4th (Derbyshire) Brigade, North Midlands Division, from 6 March 1915.

Sold with a postcard photograph of the recipient in a Royal Artillery frame, and a ‘R.A.’ shoulder title.

Frederick James Campbell was born in Nottingham on 22 August 1891, and having emigrated to Canada attested for the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force at Valcartier on 23 September 1914, having previously served 6 months in the Canadian Field Artillery, and 1 year and 9 months in the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery.
