Coins are known for the mint of Louth from Edward the Martyr’s Reform type and Æthelred II’s Second Hand type (Petersson, in NM XXXV, pp.296-8), but nothing later has been published. Dreng is otherwise known only as a moneyer at nearby Lincoln. It would seem from this coin that he may have commenced his career at Louth during the late Crux phase and later moved to Lincoln where he was prolific in the Long Cross, Helmet and Last Small Cross issues
