The group is accompanied by original documents including Warrants of Award for O.B.E., and Japanese Red Cross decoration, and a photograph of Lady Robey after receiving the Japanese award. These have all been laminated for protection. Lady Blanche Robey joined the British Red Cross Society in January 1958, as Appeals Officer for the Brighton and Hove Division. She was made an honorary Life Member of the Society in 1966, and received the Japanese Red Cross Decoration in the same year. She was appointed O.B.E. London Gazette 1 January, 1975, 'For public services particularly in Sussex.' Lady Robey was second wife of Sir George Robey, star of stage, screen and music-hall.
