Corporal Matthew Hindmarsh was a native of Shiremoor, Newcastle upon Tyne. He is mentioned once in the War Diaries of ‘A’ Battery 317th Brigade, noting the award of a Bar to his M.M. for an action at Masnieries on 5 October 1918.
